   MasterInterpreting and Traslation

   in  italian  language

  

    Educational objectives

 

   This master's program aims at training professionals capable of

    managing, with excellent language command and competency,

    relationships of interpreting in an international context with

    particular reference to the Mediterranean area and EU.

    Its peculiar value is the ability to connect the language with a

    deep knowledge of Italian life and culture.

                                                                                              

    Structure of the master                

    The course last one academic year and it revolves around two different teaching phases.

   

    Phase 1 - Conventional classroom - The course takes place in Rome at the Training Centre.

   Two semesters of classroom activities, with the help of modern audio-visual technology, during

   which several mother tongue teachers will work at reaching the following aims.

   Language structure - acquisition of language command in grammatical and syntactic structure

   of thought, logical construction and oral transposition of concepts, logical construction and written

   transposition, simultaneous and delayed interpreting, context analysis, new elaboration and

   personalization of discourse.

   Language sector - language acquisition and command of sectorial languages in terms of semantics

   and utilization in context; at least two different sectors are scheduled: the social-political and

   economic, and the tourist and multimedia sectors.

   Italian culture and environment - the knowledge of a language is completed with the knowledge

   of culture and the environment of the place where the language is spoken. Civil and religious usages,

   customs and traditions together with a basic knowledge of literature complete the cycle of studies.

 

   Phase 2 - On the job classroom - three months of training on the job at companies in Italy.

   The aim of this phase is the perfect command typically sectorial, utilized in the guest company,

   and the involvement of the learner in typical communicative and procedural activities.

 

   The teachers of this master's program have the specific experience of teaching the Italian language

   to foreign students.

   

    Study program

   The one-year academic program includes 12 courses and an internship for a total of 810 hours of

   training in addition to the optional study trip in an Arab country.

   

    Basic courses

   1 - Advanced composition and conversation (70h)
   2 - Phonetics (14h) + language laboratory (28h)
   3 - Lexical etymology, proverbs and sayings, language gestures (14h)
   4 - Sectorial language I e II (28h)
   5 - Code of ethics of the interpreter/translator - (14)
   6 - History of Italian literature - (42h)
   7 - Civilization and culture of the western world- (42h)
   8 - Most representative contemporary Italian writers and poets - (28h)
   9 - Italian art and its language (28h)
  10 - History, economics and politics in the European Community - (28h)
  11 - History of cinema and theatre (28h)

 

    Optional courses

    Popular Italian traditions in religion - (14h)
    the "made in Italy": art in industrial design - (14h)

  

     Study program

    All courses are taught on a semester basis

    First semester:
    Courses 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, and an optional course

    Second semester:
    Courses 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11

 

    The diploma of University Master, with the indication of the acquired 60 credits, will be awarded

    at the same time by the Italian and Arabic universities.

 

     Stage

    Three-months training on-the-job at companies in Italy. The aims of the phase is the perfect command

    of the language, typically sectorial utilized in the guest company and the involvement of the learner in

    communicative and procedural activities. It is up to the Master Administration to locate companies and

    firms appropriate to the student's languages needs.
